One Night the Moon

The events take place in Australia in 1932. A farming family lives out in the country. One night their small daughter wanders from the house. By morning she is missing. A search begins. There is a man in the district who can track. Albert is Aboriginal. The father does not want him in the search party. That decision changes the course of the search. Months pass. In the end the mother goes to Albert. The two of them follow the trail together. The film tells this through songs. The characters sing what they feel. The story rests on a real case. Kelton Pell and Paul Kelly appear in the fifty seven minute film, an Australian production Rachel Perkins finished in 2001.
