Operation 'The Monster'

Five workmates arrange a trip to the Danube Delta without telling their wives. The plan is to fish, to hunt, and to spend a few days among men. But not one of them knows the first thing about any of it. In the Delta everything that can happen to them does: they get lost, they sink, they blame each other, and the reckoning waiting at home keeps growing. Manole Marcus's Romanian comedy brings together the best loved actors of the period: Toma Caragiu, Octavian Cotescu and Marin Moraru. The humour rests entirely on character; there is no great event, only five men who cannot manage one another. The film is still shown again and again in Romania.
