What Orson Welles: The One-Man Band Is About
The documentary goes into the archive Orson Welles left behind: pieces of films he never finished, never released and that almost nobody has seen. The person carrying both the material and the account is Oja Kodar, his partner in life and work during his last years. The film shows this footage and at the same time describes how those last years went: the money that never came, the projects left half done, and the fact that he kept shooting anyway. What comes out is not a finished portrait but a file deliberately left incomplete. The eighty eight minute documentary by Vassili Silovic and Oja Kodar was completed in 1995.
