What Parade of the Planets Is About
A rare astronomical event, the alignment of the planets, has a strange effect on several men. An astrophysicist, a locksmith, a salesman, an architect, a loader and a trolleybus driver are called up for reserve training and the training ends early. A strange gap opens in their lives: nobody knows where they are, nobody is waiting for them, and there is nowhere they have to hurry to. Working from Aleksandr Mindadze’s screenplay, Vadim Abdrashitov uses the fantastic to address the intellect rather than the emotions.
