The Turning Point

A newly married couple return to Moscow. They are coming back from a cruise on the Black Sea. Everything looks well. They have their work and a life ahead of them. Then there is an accident. Viktor hits an elderly woman with his car. He has no time to slow down. The woman dies. Viktor’s first instinct is to get away. He looks for a way out of responsibility. That search brings him no relief. In time regret takes over. In the end he decides to take the guilt on himself. The film is about that inward turn. Irina Kupchenko and Oleg Yankovskiy appear in the ninety four minute film, a Soviet production Vadim Abdrashitov finished in 1978.
