What Past Life Is About
The year is 1977. Sephi is a young composer, and in classical music there is almost no place for a woman who writes; she knows this before she starts. Her older sister Nana works at a newspaper, digs stubbornly and does not let things go. After hearing something said about what their father lived through in Poland during the war, the two sisters go after it. The journey they make across Europe opens a past that was never spoken of at home, and changes how both of them see their father. The film was drawn from a true story. Nelly Tagar and Joy Rieger appear in Avi Nesher’s hundred and ten minute Israeli film, completed in 2016.
