Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man

The series ended in 2022; this film picks the story back up in Birmingham in November 1940. Nazi Germany is trying to break Britain economically by flooding it with counterfeit sterling, and that is what pulls Tommy Shelby out of seclusion. Cillian Murphy returns, with Barry Keoghan as Tommy's son Duke Shelby. Murphy reportedly recruited Keoghan personally, texting him the offer. Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Sophie Rundle and Stephen Graham fill out the cast. Steven Knight writes and Tom Harper directs. Filming ran from 30 September to 13 December 2024 across Birmingham and Merseyside. It premiered at Birmingham's Symphony Hall on 2 March 2026, opened in cinemas on 6 March and reached Netflix on 20 March, pulling 25.3 million views in three days. Critical response split oddly: 90 percent positive on Rotten Tomatoes against a Metacritic average of 59 out of 100. Who it is for: anyone who finished the series and never quite let Tommy go. Who it is not for: newcomers. The film does not stop to explain what came before.
