Petra

Petra does not know who her father is. When her mother dies she starts looking, and the trail leads to Jaume: a well-known sculptor, rich, a man who rules everyone around him. She gets into his house and meets his son Lucas and his wife Marisa. Nobody tells anybody the truth. There is a cruelty that has been running in this family for years, and Petra walks into it. An accident changes everything, and what has happened cannot be taken back. Jaime Rosales directs the Spanish film; a hundred and seven minutes, with Bárbara Lennie as Petra, Marisa Paredes as Marisa and Àlex Brendemühl as Lucas. It is divided into seven chapters shown out of order, so the audience learns an outcome in the middle and sees its cause later. It was shown in the Directors' Fortnight at Cannes in 2018.
