Tadeusz Śliwa's 2025 Polish film follows Agata, who is visually impaired, and Robert, a photographer. Agata has built her life herself and depends on no one; Robert is well known in his profession but has come to a halt. The film does not build the relationship as a rescue. Robert's trade, which rests on seeing, and Agata's way of perceiving the world are set against each other; the narrative gives this not as a matter of disability but as two different forms of attention. The sound design is at the centre and some scenes proceed without image. The narrative does not fall into the language of pity and leaves room for Agata's own decisions. The tone is calm and the pace low. Who it's for: those who like European relationship drama. Who it's not for: viewers opposed to blindness being used as a dramatic device; the film places it at the centre.
