The story is set in Venezuela in the sixties. There is an armed uprising in the country. A young woman fighter has to give birth in hiding. The baby turns out to be the first born on Mother’s Day. The papers make news of it and print a photograph. That is how their hiding place is given away. From that day mother and daughter are always running. Disguises and false names become ordinary things. The story is told by the daughter herself. With her cousin Teo she builds a game. They turn what their fathers did into a comic book. It is full of superheroes and clever plans. But other things sit underneath the game. Death, torture, denunciation and betrayal are part of that world too. The film sets the two beside each other.
