Predator: Killer of Killers

Three animated segments in three eras. In Karelia in 841, the warrior Ursa hunts Zoran, the man who forced her to kill her father, and her clan is cut down by a Predator moments after its own victory. In Japan in 1609, brothers Kenji and Kiyoshi duel over their father's succession until being hunted forces them together. In North Africa in 1942, a mechanic turned fighter pilot named John J. Torres takes on a Predator craft. Dan Trachtenberg's stated references are not the obvious ones: alongside Akira he cited Best in Show. The Third Floor animated it in Unreal Engine, with artists who had worked on Arcane, and it is Benjamin Wallfisch's first animated score. It landed on Hulu and Disney+ on 6 June 2025, sits before Predator: Badlands in the timeline, and brings back faces from Prey in brief appearances. Who it is for: fans of the franchise curious about what animation buys the genre. Who it is not for: viewers wanting live-action Predator dread. The pace and violence run on comic book logic here, and action wins out over tension.
