Salma Hayek Pinault What ¿Quién diablos es Juliette? Is About
The documentary was filmed between 1995 and 1997 in Havana, New York, Los Angeles, Morelia and Mexico City. It tells the story of Yuliet, a Cuban teenager, and Fabiola Quiroz, a Mexican model. Both of them speak with humour and frankness, surrounded by supporting characters of their own particular kind. Where the account arrives is this: the absence of their parents, deprivation and hardship made them stronger. The film does not compare the two lives but places them side by side and does not try to close the distance between them. The relationship the camera forms with them stays visible inside the film. Carlos Marcovich’s ninety one minute Mexican documentary was completed in 1997.
