What Ravens Is About
A hard working farmer has fallen into despair under the weight of the daily struggle, and all he wants is for his son to take over the farm and keep the thing going. The mother works to hold the family together. But the son sees his father’s condition growing steadily worse and watches it with rising fear. The film is about how an inheritance in the countryside turns into a burden and how the wish to hand it on turns into pressure. The account uses the landscape as part of that weight too. It was adapted from a novel. Reine Brynolfsson plays the lead in Jens Assur’s hundred and seven minute Swedish film, completed in 2017.
