What Real Love Is About
Eighteen year old Kendra sets out on her own for the first time for the university she has entered on a scholarship, and at the school in North Carolina she struggles to keep up with both her classes and the job she has to work. She tries to keep her distance from Ben, her partner in the photography class, because all she has in mind is finishing her degree. But when her family’s objections, money troubles and an unexpected pregnancy all fall into the same year, the two of them have to hold on to each other. Camrus Johnson’s eighty eight minute American film was inspired by Mary J. Blige’s 1992 song of the same name, and the singer is among its producers. Ajiona Alexus plays Kendra and Da’Vinchi plays Ben; it was completed in 2023.
