Regretting You

Adapted from Colleen Hoover's 2019 novel, it runs on two timelines: the day seventeen-year-old Morgan learns she is pregnant, and seventeen years later. In the present, Morgan is married to Chris with a teenage daughter, Clara. When Chris dies in a traffic accident, Morgan loses her husband and discovers his affair in the same moment. Josh Boone returns to familiar territory after The Fault in Our Stars. Allison Williams plays Morgan and Mckenna Grace plays Clara, with Dave Franco and Mason Thames alongside. It premiered in Berlin on 12 October 2025 and opened in the United States on 24 October. Against a 25 million dollar budget it grossed 90.5 million worldwide, so commercially it worked. Critics did not agree. Only 29 percent of 89 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes were positive and Metacritic gave it 33. CinemaScore audiences gave it a B. Who it is for: readers of Hoover adaptations and viewers who like mother and daughter melodrama. Who it is not for: anyone expecting grief and betrayal to be worked through. The film spends its emotion quickly and finds its resolutions easily.
