Remembrance

1944, a camp in occupied Poland. Hannah is Jewish and young. She and Tomasz, a Polish prisoner in the same camp, become involved. Tomasz works out an escape and takes her with him. They get out, then they are separated, and Hannah believes he died. More than thirty years later, married and with a daughter in New York, she is watching television and sees Tomasz. A life she has told nobody about comes back all at once. Anna Justice directs the German film; a hundred and ten minutes, with Alice Dwyer as the young Hannah, Mateusz Damięcki as Tomasz and Dagmar Manzel as Hannah in later life. It cuts between the two time frames throughout. It is drawn from a true story.
