Remote Control

Axel is a young car mechanic. He lives in Reykjavik. His mother wants to watch television. But the remote control is nowhere to be found. His sister Maja has taken it. Maja is a punk. Axel sets out to get the remote back. What looks like a simple errand drags on. Along the way he falls into other matters. A quarrel is running in the city. On one side is Moli, who smuggles liquor. On the other is Aggi, who owns a night club. Aggi has set himself a goal. He wants to be Iceland’s first mafia boss. Axel is caught between the two of them. Björn Jörundur Friðbjörnsson and Eggert Þorleifsson take the leads in Óskar Jónasson’s Icelandic film of 1992.
