Jörundur Ragnarsson What Reykjavik-Rotterdam Is About
Kristófer used to work on ships and has done prison time for smuggling alcohol. He works security now, but the debts are growing and he cannot keep his family going. His old friends bring him one last offer: a single run between Reykjavík and Rotterdam, one cargo, good money. He takes it. Things on board do not go the way they were planned, and he lands in something a great deal larger. Óskar Jónasson's Icelandic film stars Baltasar Kormákur, who also produced it. It was remade in Hollywood in 2012 as Contraband, with Kormákur this time directing.
