Right Here, Right Now

On 13 July 2002 a concert was played on the beach at Brighton. Fatboy Slim played it. His real name is Norman Cook. The event was free. It was called the Big Beach Boutique II. This was the second time it had been held. The organisers were expecting forty thousand people. More than a quarter of a million came. The city was not ready for that crowd. The police had serious difficulty with it. Some councillors and residents had been against the event. What happened changed how events are run in Britain. The documentary goes back to that day twenty years on. Norman Cook and people who were there speak. Carl Cox and Nick Frost also appear in the ninety minute film, a British production Jak Hutchcraft finished in 2023.
