Risky Drinking

The documentary looks at drinking. It does so through individual lives. Four people are followed. Drinking has shaken the life of each of them. Their closest relationships take the worst of it. The camera goes inside those relationships. Nothing is dressed up. The film also rests on figures. By its own account nearly seventy per cent of American adults drink, and nearly a third of those drink in a way that becomes a problem at some point. Those numbers come from the film and its partner. It was made with the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, known as the NIAAA. It calls the problem a national epidemic in the United States. Ellen Goosenberg Kent and Perri Peltz made the eighty two minute documentary, an American production finished in 2016.
