Rock n' Roll Nerd

The documentary is about the musician and comedian Tim Minchin. Minchin worked for years without being known. He wrote songs at the piano and went on stage. For a long time nothing came back. Then he stepped onto the comedy scene. There he found the place he was looking for. The film follows that rise step by step. The camera goes backstage. Rehearsals, journeys and long waits are visible. There is performance footage nobody had seen before. Material shot at home comes in between. The support of his wife and those close to him is part of the account. The interviews are candid throughout. The story shows the ambition and what it costs. Tim Minchin tells his own story in the eighty nine minute documentary. It is an Australian production Rhian Skirving finished in 2008.
