What Rockshow Is About
On their 1976 world tour, Paul McCartney and Wings played to an audience of sixty seven thousand at the Kingdome in Seattle. The film gives that concert from beginning to end; among the thirty songs there are both the band’s own pieces and songs from the Beatles years. The staging, the lighting and the whole idea of a stadium concert in those years are part of the record too. Nothing is inserted between the songs, no interviews and no commentary; the recording simply runs. Footage that circulated for years in incomplete forms was later put back together. Jack Priestley’s hundred and twenty nine minute record was completed in 2013.
