Romance for Bugle

The film is built on a first love. The account carries death and disappointment alongside it. The three are given together, in a lyrical telling. The work was adapted from a poem of the same title. The poem gives the film both its title and its shape. One-sided love is the strand that carries the story. The film runs drama and romance together. The account moves from a young man’s side of things. Both the beginning of a first love and its breaking are inside the film. Jaromír Hanzlík and Július Vašek take the leads, with Zuzana Cigánová, Štefan Kvietik and Miriam Kantorková also in the cast, in Otakar Vávra’s Czechoslovak film of 1967.
