Romy's Salon

Romy’s mother has to work all the time, so after school Romy goes to her grandmother every day. Stine is always busy in her hairdressing salon, she is strict, and she does not give her granddaughter much time; the ten year old does not enjoy going there either. Then everything changes: Romy notices an entirely different side of her grandmother and sees that she is beginning to forget. The relation between them turns over, and the child being looked after becomes the one doing the looking after. The film was adapted from a book by Tamara Bos and gives forgetting from the child’s point of view, without trying to explain it. Mischa Kamp took the award for best director for this ninety minute Dutch production.
