What Rounds Is About

The film takes place on the night of 9 November 2019. That date is the thirtieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. It is also thirty years since the change of regime in Bulgaria. In Sofia two police officers find a body. The dead man is Lazar, a locally known addict. The body lies near the railway tracks. That is how the night begins. Three separate police teams patrol the city. Each team works as it sees fit. Different incidents come their way. Poverty, corruption and indifference gather in the same night. The officers wrestle with their own consciences as well. The film shows the present state of the country across one night. The account runs along three strands. Ivan Barnev and Assen Blatechki appear in the one hundred six minute film, a Bulgarian production Stephan Komandarev finished in 2019.
