Savage Three

Ovidio and two friends work at a data centre during the day and let off steam afterwards with random acts of violence. What starts as a riot they provoke at a football match escalates quickly into car theft, rape and murder. The police are certain the wave of crimes is politically motivated, but the worn-out Commissario Santaga suspects something considerably more frightening: that boredom and indifference to the society around them is the whole of the motive. Vittorio Salerno wrote and directed, shooting in Turin; Titanus distributed it and it opened on 20 September 1975, having first been turned down by the censors, as the papers of the time reported. Joe Dallesandro plays Ovidio and Enrico Maria Salerno the inspector.
