Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus

The documentary was filmed in the south of the United States. The journey is made by the singer Jim White. His car is a Chevrolet from 1970. The road passes through churches. Prisons and truck stops are on the route as well. There are bars and coal mines too. Musicians are met along the way. The Handsome Family are among them. David Eugene Edwards plays as well. Lee Sexton, who plays the banjo, is there too. The writer Harry Crews tells his stories. Poverty and faith stand side by side in the region. The account is built as a film of the road. Music runs through the whole of it. Jim White and Johnny Dowd appear in the eighty two minute documentary, a British production Andrew Douglas finished in 2004.
