Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu

Peddodu and Chinnodu are brothers who resemble each other in nothing. The elder stayed in the village, works alongside his father, and is quiet and dutiful. The younger lives in the city, is after money, and has left the family behind. Both are of an age to marry, and finding a suitable partner for each is the film's main axis. Along the way the family also faces its own fractures. Srikanth Addala proceeds through daily detail rather than plot: work in the fields, family meals, relations with neighbours, and unspoken hurts. The narrative idealises village life but does not soften the distance between the brothers. Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu play the brothers, and bringing together the stars of two generations was the most talked-about thing about it. Prakash Raj and Jayasudha play the parents. Who it's for: Viewers who like Telugu family drama, stories about brothers, and quietly moving films. Who it's not for: It runs very long and the plot is thin. The women are also defined around the question of marriage.
