What Shaolin Rescuers Is About
After the storming of the Shaolin Temple, the survivor Hung Si Quan flees to the city with a Manchu general assigned to finish off the Shaolin resistance on his trail. Two ordinary young men who want to be heroes get pulled into the fight alongside a kung fu student and a rebel, and end up saving Hung’s life. Chang Cheh directed and the Shaw Brothers produced. The cast is the director’s team known as the Venoms: Lu Feng, Lo Meng, Philip Kwok, Chiang Sheng and Sun Chien, with Jason Pai Piao at the front. It opened on 24 March 1979.
