What Shattered Is About
A man who loses his memory in a serious crash tries to reconstruct who he is from his wife's account and old photographs, and when the accounts stop cohering he begins investigating his own past. Wolfgang Petersen sets it in the classic noir frame: a private detective, infidelity, money. On the surface it proceeds predictably, and the revelation at the end genuinely surprises while standing up to a second look. San Francisco is well used and some supporting characters are thin.
