Sidewalls

Two people living in facing buildings on the same street in Buenos Aires never see each other. Both are alone, both communicate online, and both find it hard to go outside. The film makes the city the reason for the narrative: windows, cramped flats and side windows opened without permission are described constantly. The narrative delays bringing the two together, and the delay becomes the film itself. Gustavo Taretto wrote and directed, with Pilar Lopez de Ayala and Javier Drolas. It is an Argentine production. Who it's for: those who like quiet films about loneliness in a city. Who it's not for: viewers wanting fast romantic comedy; the weight here is on the voiceover.
