Sight

Ming Wang grows up in China through the Cultural Revolution. The schools close, his family is marked out, and he narrowly escapes being sent to the countryside. He gets to America and becomes an eye surgeon, working on laser repair of the cornea, with a clinic in Nashville. One day a child arrives from India: her stepmother poured acid into her eyes. Whether surgery is even possible is unclear. Treating her forces Wang to open his own childhood for the first time. Andrew Hyatt directs; a hundred and three minutes, with Terry Chen as Ming Wang and Greg Kinnear and Fionnula Flanagan in the cast. It is based on the real story; Ming Wang is an eye surgeon in Nashville who set up a foundation for blind children.
