What Silent Voice Is About
Léa Fehner's 2009 debut feature braids three stories that meet in the visiting room of a French prison. Zohra has come from Algeria wanting to see the man who killed her son in France. Laure, sixteen, needs an adult to come with her so she can visit the boy she loves, who has just gone inside. Stéphane, a timid delivery man, is offered money to take a prisoner's place. The three do not know one another, they walk the streets of the same city, and they end up in the same room. Reda Kateb, Pauline Étienne and Farida Rahouadj star. It won the Louis Delluc Prize for best first film and screened in Venice Days.
