What Ogres Is About

A travelling theatre company called Chekhov Cabaret moves from town to town. The tent goes up, the play happens, everything is packed away and they leave. For these people work and private life never separate: they live in the same caravans, drink at the same table and repeat the same arguments. A baby on the way and the return of a former lover reopen the older wounds. Léa Fehner's film runs close to her own history: she grew up on the road with parents who took theatre to places that had none, and her father and sister appear in it. Adèle Haenel and Marc Barbé are also in the cast. It runs one hundred and thirty-eight minutes and never lowers its voice.
