What SlugTerra: Return of the Elementals Is About
The second feature spun out of the Canadian series from Nerd Corps Entertainment runs sixty-three minutes and reached cinemas in August 2014. Eli Shane and his crew chase Junjie, once guardian of the Eastern Caverns and a master of a slug-based fighting style, across ninety-nine caverns after the five Elemental slugs, ancestors of every slug in Slugterra and dangerous enough to wreck the place. The show's one genuinely odd idea is that you load a living creature instead of a bullet, and it transforms once it hits enough speed; the film scales that up without diluting it. Five directors share the credit, which tells you how the television pipeline works. Who it is for: children already following the series. Who it is not for: newcomers, since nothing here is explained from scratch.
