Sometime in August

Thomas and Hanna are in their late thirties. The two of them are a happy couple. They buy an old house in the country. The plan is to spend the summer fixing it up. Hanna is looking forward to the time alone together. Thomas invites his older brother as well. The man’s name is Friedrich. His business and his marriage have both collapsed and he is deeply depressed. Hanna is not pleased about the invitation. Thomas keeps doing things to change the mood. Hanna withdraws into herself. In return she asks her goddaughter to come and stay. The girl’s name is Augustine. The balance in the house comes apart after that. Marie Bäumer and Milan Peschel appear in the ninety two minute film, a German production Sebastian Schipper finished in 2009.
