Son of Hamido

Two policemen working undercover arrive at a fishing area near Suez through which drugs are moving. Ebn Hameedo and his colleague Hassan rent a room in the house of a father with two daughters. Before long they fall for Azeeza, the younger, and Hameeda, the elder. Into this comes al-Baaz Effendi, who wants to marry Azeeza and tries to get Hassan out of the way. Al-Baaz is also part of the narcotics business. The policemen go after him in order to reach the rest of the gang. The film sets a crime plot inside a comedy; the real interest is not the investigation but the dealings between people. Ismail Yasseen, Ahmed Ramzy and Hind Rostom appear in Fatin Abdel Wahab’s hundred and ten minute Egyptian film, completed in 1957.
