What Springtime Is About

Hyun-woo is a musician who plays the trumpet. He once dreamed of playing in a symphony orchestra. After he gave that dream up things did not go well. He also parted from his former lover Yeon-hee. He feels his life has run into a dead end. Then he accepts a temporary job. The job is at a middle school in a rural mining town. What he is there to do is run the school band. The band is in poor shape. The instruments are worn out and the sheet music is damaged. Only faded traces are left of its old achievements. The band will be closed unless it wins the national competition. Choi Min-sik and Jang Shin-young take the leads in Ryu Jang-ha’s Korean film of 2004, which runs a hundred and twenty eight minutes.
