An unemployed man is brought into a police station for smashing a drinks vending machine. In the interview room he predicts two explosions before they happen and claims there are more. The police begin investigating him as a terrorist. He first says he knows about the bombs by clairvoyance, then that he was hypnotised into forgetting. He feeds his interrogators clues in the form of riddles and drives them to distraction. Akira Nagai keeps almost the whole film inside the interview room, so the tension comes out of talk rather than weapons. The file on a disgraced officer who took his own life after a scandal years earlier comes into it as well. It is adapted from a novel and keeps its central question open to the last: is this man actually the one who planted them?
