What Swiss Miss Is About

Stan and Ollie turn up in Switzerland to sell mousetraps, on Stan's reasoning that a country with that much cheese must contain a proportional number of mice. Sales do not go well, they end up washing dishes at a hotel, and an operetta romance runs along beside them. None of that is why the film survives. It survives for the sequence in which the two of them try to carry a piano across a rope bridge and meet a gorilla halfway, a long and almost wordless set piece built on silent era timing.
