Switchback

A serial killer has been working across the American Midwest for years without leaving a trace, and FBI agent Frank LaCrosse is after him because the man has his son. At the same time a deputy in Colorado finds a murder in his own county, and the two lines move toward each other. Jeb Stuart, the writer of Die Hard and The Fugitive, directs for the first time. The story hides who the killer is for a while and cuts between the two lines. Dennis Quaid plays the agent and Danny Glover the man he meets on the road. Its best passage is the finale on a snowbound mountain railway. It drew no interest on release and the director never made another feature. Who it is for: viewers who like nineties serial killer thrillers and crime films in winter landscapes. Who it is not for: anyone looking for an original structure.
