Thank You for the Rain

Kisilu is a farmer in Kenya. Five years ago he picked up a camera and began filming his family, his village and the damage climate change was doing. Drought and flood hit the same area by turns. A violent storm brings him together with a Norwegian filmmaker. After that meeting Kisilu’s role changes. First he becomes a leader in his community, then an activist speaking from international platforms. The film tells that change through the footage he shot himself. Who is holding the camera is the real matter in the account. The eighty seven minutes are spread over five years. Julia Dahr’s Kenyan documentary was completed in 2017.
