What The 3 L'il Pigs Is About
Three brothers keep watch at the hospital bedside of their mother, who is in a coma. There is a lot of time to fill, and the conversation drifts inevitably to marriage, fidelity and cheating. The two younger ones push it a little further every day, while the eldest, uncomfortable with all this, holds on to his principles. Then the talking stops being only talking. Directed by Patrick Huard, this Quebec comedy does not tie the material up in a moral lesson. The three brothers give three different answers and the film puts none of them above the others; everyone pays the bill for his own choice. The subject looks light, but the place the film keeps turning to is more serious: what people do not tell each other, and why. At over two hours, it is a loose, talkative production.
