The Advocate: A Missing Body

Byun Ho-sung is a lawyer who does not lose. His method is not law but managing the jury, the witnesses and the press. A big case comes to him: a man charged with murder where no body has been found. A conviction without a body is hard, so the case counts as won. On the day of the hearing his client stands up and confesses. Ho-sung's career ends on the spot. He starts investigating his own client to work out why he confessed, and what he runs into is the thing underneath the file. Huh Jong-ho directs the Korean film; a hundred and seventeen minutes, with Lee Sun-kyun as Ho-sung and Kim Go-eun and Jang Hyun-sung in the cast. It is one of those Korean thrillers that runs a courtroom and a chase at the same time.
