What The American Dream Is About
Jérémy, who works behind the counter of a video rental shop in Amiens, and Bouna, who cleans at Orly airport, decide to become NBA agents. They have no money, no contacts and no English, and their only capital is nerve and the idea of treating the player like a person. It is based on a true story: Bouna Ndiaye and Jérémy Medjana went on to build the careers of the players who went from France to the NBA. Anthony Marciano builds it as comedy, and while laughing at the pair's incompetence he also shows who the system lets in and who it does not. Jean-Pascal Zadi and Raphaël Quenard play them. It opened in France in February 2026. Who it is for: viewers who like French comedy and the machinery behind basketball. Who it is not for: anyone expecting the genre's conventions to be avoided.
