The Beautiful Truth

A fifteen year old boy has just lost his mother. He is being schooled at home. As his first assignment he starts researching a subject. The person he researches is a physician called Max Gerson. Gerson claimed that a diet could cure cancer. The boy goes after that claim. Along the way he visits institutions and patients. He goes to the Gerson institute in San Diego. The physician’s daughter Charlotte explains things there. People who say they were cured are interviewed. The film was built as a documentary defending the method. It gives some room to doctors who disagree. The claim has no scientific basis, however. No study to date has shown the method to be effective. This should be watched as a work of advocacy. Charlotte Gerson speaks in the ninety one minute documentary, an American production Steve Kroschel finished in 2008.
