Tomasz Beksiński What The Beksińskis. A Sound and Picture Album Is About
The documentary is about a Polish family. The father, Zdzisław Beksiński, was a painter. The mother, Zofia, held the family together. Their son Tomasz worked in radio. He was a translator as well. His voice was known to a wide audience. The family was ordinary and unusual at the same time. The father had one obsession. He filmed himself and his family constantly. A huge amount of footage built up over the years. The documentary is made from that footage alone, with nothing shot from outside. Some of the material had never been shown, and what it tells is the tragic story of the family. Marcin Borchardt directed the eighty minute documentary, a Polish production finished in 2017.
