What The Border Post Is About

Spring 1987. A small post on the Yugoslav-Albanian border. The soldiers are counting down to discharge: boredom, cards, guard duty, nothing. The commanding officer, Captain Pasic, is cheating on his wife and catches a disease. To cover it up he invents an incident at the border and reports that the post was attacked. The lie grows, goes up the chain, and puts the army in motion. The soldiers stand on alert without knowing what is happening. It does not cross anyone's mind that in a few years they will genuinely be putting these uniforms back on. Rajko Grlić directs; ninety-four minutes, with Sergej Trifunović in the lead and Bogdan Diklić and Emir Hadžihafizbegović in the cast. It was made as a co-production with producers from all six countries that came out of Yugoslavia.
