What The Bridegrooms of Eftyhia Is About
Vangelis has been engaged for eight years and believes he cannot marry until his older sister Eftihia does, so he sets about producing suitors for her by every means he can think of. They arrive in turn and leave in turn, and a trip to Hydra makes a mess of things when the last candidate falls for the family’s niece instead. Nikos Tsiforos and Polyvios Vasileiadis wrote the script from their own stage play. It was the third film in a row to bring together Georgia Vasileiadou, Vasilis Avlonitis and Nikos Rizos. It did badly, selling twenty-one thousand seven hundred and seventy tickets and finishing thirty-third among the season’s eighty-two Greek releases.
