What The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey Is About
A woman moves to a small town with her son. The boy's father is dead, and the one thing left from him was a carved wooden nativity set; in the move it is lost. The mother goes to the town's woodcarver and asks him to make another. Jonathan Toomey speaks to nobody and is sour with everyone. He lost his wife and child years ago and has let no one into the house since. In the end he agrees, and the boy comes every day to watch him work, and the work changes them both. Bill Clark directs; ninety-one minutes, with Tom Berenger as Toomey and Joely Richardson as the mother. Saoirse Ronan is in the cast in one of her earliest films. It is adapted from Susan Wojciechowski's children's book.
